  • Overview

    This position is designed to carry out the main business activity of Molson Coors in Puerto Rico. The Account Specialist executes field promotion activities and special events, to increase and support brand market presence and exposure. The Account Specialist is also responsible for representing the brand by directly maintaining and strengthening customer service, improving brand execution efforts, and supporting the distributor’s promotional department, resulting in the brand’s growth and development in the market, and advises and provides recommendations to management based on the observations and situations encountered during his/her supervision of promotional events. 

    Responsibilities

    Brand Building:

    • Maintains brand POS presence in accounts through the rotation and installation of permanent POS material in highly visible areas during On and Off Premise Crew Drives. The Account Specialist must decide POS material to be installed, location, and accounts to visit on assigned route during On Premise/Off Premise Crew Drives
    • Ensures appropriate execution of brand activities and special events assigned in weekly agenda, through the assessment of customer needs and set up of POS and promotional material prior to activity or event; pick-up and delivery of beer cases and supplies to customer. Progressive responsibilities include direct negotiations to sponsor happy hours and special promotions.
    • Advises management on results of promotional events by supervising weekly events on the assigned agenda and provides written reports. The Account Specialist also advises management on promotional efforts, strategies, and results of competitive brands by attending one weekly competitive event. Provides information on weekly report.
    • Improves promotional execution efforts and brand growth opportunities by submitting reports in a timely and consistent manner including detailed results and situations encountered during special events and promotional agency activities, such as sales activities, attendance, strengths, and areas of opportunities during events, etc. Proactively participates in staff meetings with information and suggestions
    • Conducts weekly marketing surveys on client and non-client accounts during On Premise Crew Drives. Advises management on prospective accounts on a weekly basis

     

    Customer Relations:

     

    • Strengthens customer relations and provides service to accounts by performing monthly periodic visits to special accounts and bar managers. Directly responsible for addressing customer concerns and advising management on possible solutions
    • Promotes teamwork relations with distributor by providing support in promotional activities and crew drives in coordination with Distributor’s Promotions, Sales & Marketing Departments.

    Qualifications

    Education and Experience Level:

    • Associate Degree or College Degree desirable

    Skills, Knowledge, and Experiences:

    • At least two years’ experience in Promotions. Liquor and/or beer industry exposure preferable
    • Bilingual abilities in both Spanish and English (Preferred but not required)
    • Heavy Truck Driver’s License
    • Capable of drafting reports and other business communications
    • MS applications

    Other Requirements:

    • Available to work on a flexible work schedule that includes nights, weekends and holidays
    • Must be able to climb ladders and install promotional materials in heights
