Overview

This position supports the month-end close, forecasting, analysis, and reporting cycle of the Molson Coors International (MCI) Business Unit, working closely with both the Denver-based team and market-based finance teams around the world. The ability to do advanced work in Excel, knowledge of US GAAP, attention to detail, hard work ethic, team attitude, and the ability to work well with others are all imperative pre-requisites for this role. Responsibilities

Month-end close:

-Complete month-end account reconciliations, prepare journal entries.

 

-Ensure accuracy of balanenhancements

-Drive efficiency in the reporting process through the use of systems, tools, and standardization

-Provide our market-based finance teams with US GAAP accounting guidance and instruction

 

 

Monthly Reporting Cycle:

-Responsible for Monthly Reporting for both actuals and forecasts on a monthly basis-Host monthly results reviews with regional Finance teams

-Create consolidated MCI reports, analytical tools, and summary reports

-Ensure all reporting (output of the system) is accurate 

-Assist with the compilation and completion of the monthly results review power point decks, which is submitted to and reviewed with the MCI and MCBC leadership team

-Prepare the monthly results summary decks for MCI's monthly Leadership Meeting and provide analysis for key business decisions

-Prepare summaries of the business and assist MCI CEO and CFO with monthly preparation for results review

Managing Denver HQ Budgets:

- Act as a business partner to the Denver HQ functions (IT, HR, Supply Chain, etc) to provide finance support to non-finance functions

- Update Denver HQ budgets for actual results and forecasts on a monthly basis and leadmonthly budget meetings for budget reviews and annual planning

- Work with Supply Chain and Procurement teams to manage cost savings reporting

- Lead the Denver HQ Annual Operating Plan consolidation process

 

Quarterly Earnings Process:

-Support MCBC's Quarterly Earnings process, including language for the Earnings Release, Conference Call Script, wording for the 10-K/10-Q, and Results Books for MCI's CEO and CFO

-Assist in summarizing external analyst reports for MCI-relevant comments

-Prepare summaries for Earnings and prepare MCI CEO and CFO with Q&A

ce sheet and risk of financial misstatements.

 

-Manage intercompany reconciliation process between MCI entities and other segments

-Consolidate monthly results from all our global markets

-Ensure compliance with appropriate US GAAP Accounting and SOX controls

-Serve as the Subject Matter Expert for IT system knowledge and support as it relates to MCI internal IT tools

-Partner with IT on system improvements and issue resolution relating to reporting

-Assume the team-lead role in testing new reports or current report

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance and/or Accounting, CPA
  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience in Big 4 accounting firm (experience with Manufacturing clients is preferred).
  • Knowledge of US GAAP, attention to details and a team attitude with a track record of strong collaboration, ability to work independently, high-degree of self-initiative, and an ability to thrive in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel software

Preferred:

  • Graduate Degree in Accounting
  • Advanced understanding of the financial statements and their creation and classification, including income statements, statements of cash flows, and balance sheets.
  • Advanced knowledge of PowerPoint and Word software.
  • Previous experience working with SAP.
  • Multi-lingual and experience working with international markets is a plus.
